Exploring Structural Stability: High School STEM Tower Challenge
Our high school students delved into the world of structural engineering by constructing towers using spaghetti sticks.
The challenge wasn’t just about building the tallest tower but ensuring it could withstand simulated earthquakes. Guided by principles of physics and engineering, students brainstormed designs and collaboratively built models. Once completed, the towers faced the ultimate test: a vibrating platform simulating seismic activity. And there you go, we have our top three winners.
This is one of the fun STEM challenges to promote collaboration, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
