What the program look like?

Inclusion of students with special needs

Students with special needs will be accepted to join RAIS under the Full SEN program if seats are available.

  1. Provision of Student Information
Parents are required to provide complete and accurate information about their child, especially if the child has been diagnosed with any special needs or condition. This information is crucial for determining appropriate support and interventions.
  2. Identification and Referral for Evaluation
For students who have not been formally diagnosed but are learning under the Full SEN program and display behaviors or characteristics that may impact their learning and behavior, the school may recommend assessment, and further evaluation. If parents agree, the child may be referred for intervention, which can benefit both the student and the family.
  3. Shadow Teacher/SEN Support Services
When a student has been enrolled in the full SEN program, their progress will be closely monitored and evaluated by the teaching team. Based on a collective assessment of the student’s improvement, a recommendation may be made for the student to transition to the mainstream classroom with the support of a full-time shadow teacher. This decision will be made in collaboration with the parents to ensure the best possible support for the student’s continued success. Also, as per the need arises in the mainstream, a student would be recommended for a shadow teacher.
  4. Parental Involvement
Parents of SEN students are expected to attend regular parent conferences to discuss their child’s progress and any necessary adjustments to support their development.
  5. Social Pass for SEN Students
For students under the SEN category, a Social Pass may be issued to allow them to attend school, particularly if they require additional support in a mainstream environment. The issuance of a Social Pass will be based on the teacher’s recommendation regarding the student’s learning progress and success, and it will be implemented only with the parents’ approval. This pass helps facilitate the student’s integration into the school while providing the necessary support for their development.
